Arrived in Weihai!

After another day of sightseeing in Beijing Tuesday, we flew to Weihai today.

It was an adventure to pick the bike up at Terminal 2 and get it, both of us plus a guide and our suitcases all to Terminal 3. The end result was that we needed 2 cars (I didn't think to take a picture sooner, but the bike is in the truck of the blue car with the back seats folded down - the rest of us went in a separate taxi).

After checking in and security, we went to a ramen restaurant in the airport for lunch. I'm sure it wasn't as good as ramen in Japan, but it was pretty yummy.

(And I had to take a picture of the menu. Too bad I went with ramen instead of "protein and nutrition with resilience"...)

We met up with several other US athletes (and a few Austrailian ones too) at the gate for the flight to Yantai. The flight was quick and soon we were flying over the general Weihai area.

I think this might even be Half Moon Bay in the bottom left.

We landed in Yantai and got our bikes and were immediately greeted by a couple people hired by the travel company we used for the race - Premium Plus Sports. They helped us get to the bus and get our bikes loaded (6 people and 4 bikes in a 35 passenger bus!) and then we had a short ride to Weihai. We got here and checked into our fancy hotel, had dinner, and now Brad's working on my bike.

Tomorrow we'll see the venue!
